Factors affecting the quality of underwater pelletizers-pelletizer knife and template

(1) The alignment between the cutter and the template.

During the granulation process, the cutter is closely attached to the surface of the template for high-speed rotation and granulation.

This requires template cutter matching to meet the technical requirements, otherwise it will cause the problem of pad cutters, particle fragments, and serious cutter wear.

(2) The gap between the cutter and the template.

The length of the particles, the degree of bending and the service life of the cutter are affected by the matching degree of the feed pressure and the cutter speed.

If the feed pressure is too high, the cutter and the template will be severely worn; if the feed pressure is too small, it is prone to accidents of padding and wrapping the knife, which affects the product quality.

(3) The hardness of the cutting blade.

The cutter must have a hardness that matches the template.

Excessive hardness of the cutter material will cause serious wear on the template and cutter, shortening the service life.

If the hardness of the cutter material is too low, it will cause excessive wear of the cutter, resulting in unqualified products.

(4) The sharpness of the cutter.

The sharpness of the cutter has a greater influence on the appearance of the product.

The sharper the cutter, the smoother the cross-section of the particles, otherwise, tailing and even adhesion will occur.

(5) The unobstructed state of the die hole and the uniformity of the template heating.

Whether the molten material can smoothly and evenly pass through the forming channel of the template is affected by the uniformity of the heating of the template.

Only when the discharge speed of each die hole is the same, the particles of uniform size can be cut out.

If the temperature control is not uniform, the flow rate of the die hole material will be uneven, causing the particles to appear different in length.
