Research on granulation technology of underwater granulator——Faults and solutions
The technical requirements for underwater granulation are relatively high, involving material melt index, cylinder temperature, particle water temperature, mechanical component installation accuracy, spare parts performance, start-up and shutdown operations, adjustment and optimization, and many other aspects.
The granulation effect has a huge impact, and the common failure phenomena are:
(1) The knife is entangled: A part of the polyethylene material is not cut into particles but is wrapped on the cutting knife to form many strips and blocks.
(2) Pad knife: There is a piece of polyethylene material between the knife head and the template, which forms a lot of fragments with irregular particle shapes.
(3) Die hole plugging: The mold hole of the template is clogged, which will form a lot of scraps and particles of different sizes.
(4) Tail particles: The particles have small tails, which will produce a large amount of polyethylene shreds and powder.
(5) Many debris: There are a lot of debris in the particles, which are separated by the vibrating screen.
